Rex Airlines lost a million dollars a week on its ambitious expansion into major city routes. It’s collapse follows that of airline Bonza earlier this year. Rex launched a Frequent Flyer program last year, and members now will have their points frozen. Points can't be accrued or redeemed but may become available again if there's a successful restructure. Rex and Virgin Australia are exploring options to make Velocity Frequent Flyer benefits available to Rex’s regional customers.
