Qantas has devalued points redemptions with members now needing up to 20% more frequent flyer points for a premium reward seat on a long-haul flight. It will adjust Classic Flight Reward rates from August 5. Economy redemptions increase by 10-15%, premium cabins by 20% and upgrade costs rise by up to 20%. Partner airline redemptions increase by 15-20%, while some Jetstar economy redemptions drop (from 6,400 to 5,700 points).
