Kiwibank will end its Air New Zealand Airpoints partnership at the end of October this year. They’ve offered the Airpoints co-brand credit card since 2013. Regulation has increased costs for rewards cards (with more regulation expected this year). Kiwibank notes it would have to reduce rewards or increase interest rates to cater for these. Their view; this would lead to customers who revolve (run a balance) further subsidising rewards for others which isn't fair.
